1. Who we are and how to contact us
GetFinUp Ltd provides family financial education, online learning, free resources and money-planning tools. This notice explains how GetFinUp uses personal information through getfinup.com, its forms, webinars and learning services.
For a privacy question or to exercise your rights, use our contact form and mark your message “Privacy request”. You can also write to GetFinUp, 5 Otters Close, Orpington, BR5 3PN, United Kingdom.
2. Information we collect
- Contact information: your name, email address, phone number when provided, and the information you include in an enquiry.
- Resource and registration information: the freebie, webinar or course you request; registration and delivery records; and your communication preferences.
- Customer information: order, payment-status, account-access and learning-activity information needed to provide and support a purchased service. Payment providers process payment details under their own notices.
- Website information: IP address, browser and device details, pages and links used, cookies and similar identifiers, campaign attribution fields such as UTM parameters and click identifiers, and analytics or session-recording information where those tools operate.
Please do not enter a child’s private contact details, bank information, account passwords or sensitive family financial information into our enquiry or freebie forms. Example budgets and wishes can use made-up figures.
3. Why we use information
- To respond to enquiries, send a requested resource and provide webinar or course access.
- To administer orders, accounts, support and service communications.
- To send optional money tips, resources, webinar invitations and course updates when you have agreed to receive marketing.
- To understand website use and campaign performance, maintain security, diagnose problems and improve our services.
- To meet legal obligations and manage complaints or legal claims.
4. Our lawful bases
We use contractual necessity for the steps needed to provide a paid service you request, legal obligation for required records, and legitimate interests for proportionate enquiry handling, requested free-resource delivery, security, support and service improvement. Those interests are balanced against your rights. We rely on consent where required for marketing and non-essential tracking. You may withdraw consent without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
5. Requested resources and optional marketing
Our freebie forms use a parent/guardian acknowledgement and a separate optional email marketing checkbox. You can unsubscribe from marketing using the link in an email or contact us. Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent essential messages about a resource, order or account you have requested. A phone number or email marketing permission does not by itself authorise promotional text messages.
6. Who receives information
Information is handled by authorised people and service providers needed to run GetFinUp. These include our Zento/LeadConnector customer-management and website platform, hosting and communication services, payment and learning-service providers, and analytics services. Our pages use Google Analytics and Smartlook; some campaign pages may also use Meta tracking. These services have their own privacy information and technical settings. Professional advisers, authorities or other recipients may receive information where required by law or needed to establish or defend legal rights.
7. International processing
Some platform and service providers process information outside the United Kingdom. Where UK data-protection law requires a transfer safeguard, the transfer must be covered by an applicable adequacy arrangement or appropriate contractual and other safeguards. Contact us for information about the providers and safeguards relevant to your information.
8. How long information is kept
We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. We consider whether a request has been fulfilled, whether you remain a customer, whether support or a complaint is ongoing, applicable accounting and legal requirements, and the need to establish or defend claims. Marketing preferences and a limited suppression record may be retained so that an unsubscribe request continues to be respected. Contact us for the retention period or criteria applicable to a particular record.
9. Cookies, analytics and recordings
Our services use cookies and similar technologies for website operation, access, analytics and campaign attribution. Google Analytics measures visits and activity; Smartlook can record website interactions to help identify usability problems. Tracking settings can differ between pages. Non-essential tracking requires consent where the law requires it.
You can block or delete cookies using your browser settings and use any consent controls offered on the page. Blocking necessary cookies may affect access or functionality. Changing a setting does not remove information already collected; contact us with a specific request.
10. Families and young people
Our enquiry, registration and purchase forms are intended for adults aged 18 or over. GetFinUp15 is designed for family learning with parent or guardian involvement. Parents should supervise use and avoid sending children’s personal or sensitive information through adult lead-capture forms. If you believe a child has supplied information unexpectedly, contact us so we can investigate.
11. Your rights and complaints
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask to access, correct or erase your information, restrict its use, receive certain information in a portable format, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can object to direct marketing at any time. We may need to verify your identity before responding, and some rights have legal exceptions.
Contact us first if you have a concern. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
12. Changes to this notice
We will update this notice when our services or processing arrangements change. The date above identifies the current version. For the rules on using our services, see our Terms & Conditions.
